Our Story of Love at First Sight…

We were expecting our 2nd beautiful baby girl Harper Sophia Sypniewski to be born in November 2014. Brieanne was about 35 weeks through her pregnancy when our unfortunate story began to unfold. Brieanne was working when she began experiencing some discomfort, which we both attributed to the positioning of the baby and didn't think anything of it at this time...as Brieanne's work day progressed she began to experience more and more discomfort, ultimately, to the point where it was unbearable when she arrived home and we headed straight for the emergency room. We knew at this point something wasn't right, but we were not expecting the news we were about to receive. As the news was delivered to us by the doctor that Harper didn't have a heartbeat and Brieanne suffered a complete placental abruption a range of emotions and a feeling of shock took us over. There were so many questions and uncertainties, but we knew that we woul d likely never receive an answer that would suffice. It didn't feel real...How could this happen to us at this stage of the game? Why can't we hold our baby and take her home? Harper's room is decorated and ready for her arrival...We couldn't wait to see our daughter Stella interact with her new baby sister...What could've been done differently? We both had to show strength and resolve in the coming weeks, but especially Brieanne, who had carried her baby for 35 weeks and had to go home without her baby, plan her funeral and grapple with what just took place. We will always miss our baby Harper Sophia Sypniewski and wonder what she would've looked like and who she would've become as a person, but we understand the difficult fact that we cannot be selfish in our desire to have our baby here with us in a physical sense, but understand that to move forward we must accept that she is now in a better place and will forever remain in our hearts.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and learn about our baby who will only live on in our hearts… forever. We would like to ask that you help the organization that has helped us and helps so many others in their times of need.

All donations made to this page are made in loving memory of our baby gone too soon and will be used towards the WNYPBN’s Program.
